Room To Grow.
Room To Learn.
White City, Emerald Park, and the Highway 1 corridor area east of Regina are growing fast.
Local school capacity needs to keep pace.
Room To Learn is a community-led effort to make the case for additional school capacity in the area clear, visible, and durable until that need becomes a funded provincial commitment.
The Ask.
We are asking the provincial government to make a funded commitment to additional school capacity for White City, Emerald Park, and the surrounding Highway 1 corridor, including high school and elementary school capacity.
Our near-term goal is to see that commitment advanced through the 2027-28 provincial budget process.
The Need For More Schools.
Booming Development Activity
Municipal infrastructure to support thousands of new residents is in place and new development activity in the area is taking off. There are 100’s of new housing starts anticipated over the next couple years.
Elementary Schools At Capacity
White City / Emerald Park have two elementary schools with over 1,000 students combined. These schools are at capacity and a growing population will continue stretch available resources.
No Local High School
Despite the large number of elementary students, there is no local high school in White City / Emerald Park. High School students from the community are bused en masse to neighboring Balgonie.
